I HAVE THIS URGENT FEELING OF WRITING SOMETHING FOR MY OTP (ATSUMINA) BUT LIKE I'M BUSY 😭😭

I just rewatched that old clip where Acchan says that if she's 30 or 40 and she's not in a relationship/haven't fallen in love, then she wants to live with Takamina for the rest of her life. Then she adds the comment, "we should just get married or something" and let's ignore how the interviewer tells Acchan that's not possible....

Like she's already past 30... but Takamina is married... 😭😭😭 so I want a fluff AU where they end up together.

Like, Takamina isn't married. Acchan still went through with a marriage and has a kid, then got a divorce. Let's say they kinda fought for something (not important, maybe), and now, Acchan needs someone to help her with her son.

Takamina is her first choice but she remembers they've been on bad terms... so, she asks around and when no one can help her, not even her parents. Acchan swallows her pride and calls Takamina.

Obviously, Minami says yes. Minami can't say no to Acchan.

The kid knows Minami, but still is shy. Atsuko promises ice cream, a day in the park, and some snacks the next day if he's a good kid. Minami says it's fine, she will find a way to keep him busy.

Atsuko can't quite look at Minami's eyes. She still feels a bit embarrassed.

"Everything will be fine," Minami says softly, holding Atsuko's hand and giving her a light squeeze. "I'll take good care of him. He won't even realize you will be gone for long."

Minami mistakes her embarrassment for worry. And Atsuko wants to smack Minami's head and also kiss her.

The thing is, Atsuko goes. She works and the time pass. When the director of the drama she's shooting yells 'Cut!' Atsuko asks for the hour.

2am. Way past the hour she told Minami.

She doesn't know if she should knock on the door, press the bell, or send Minami a text. She opts for a call.

Minami opens the door of her apartment, a hand rubbing the sleep off her eyes.

"I'm so sorry, the recording went far longer than I anticipated," Atsuko whispers as she walks inside of the dark apartment.

"It's fine," Minami whispers back, her voice hoarse. "I predicted as much and planned accordingly. You should stay. He's deep asleep."

Atsuko stops then, a few steps away from what she knows is Minami's door. She's not surprised that Minami knew how to distract a kid, she always was better with kids, but it surprises her that Ken-chan is sleeping in Minami's room. She guessed Minami would place him on the guest room.

"Are you sure?"

"Of course! I still have some of your clothes in the closet," she opens the door, slowly and with care as to not disturb the kid inside. "Just change and come to bed.

There's a little light coming from the bathroom, the door left slightly open, enough to wash the room with a yellowish light, but not bright enough to wake the people inside.

"He told me you bought him a doraemon light to help him." Minami smiles, sitting at the edge of the bed as Atsuko leaves her bag need the closet and proceeds to search for her clothes. "He wanted to be big and brave though."

Atsuko turns, an old, big T-shirt in hand, her son lays on the left side of the king size bed. He holds his safety blanket tightly, his thumb on his mouth —habit Atsuko has tried to get rid of, unsuccessfully.

"I told him grown ups use the light of the bathroom."

Both share a soft chuckle.

Atsuko changes in the bathroom. Not because she's shy to undress, after so many years, they're not shy when it's only them. But because she really wants to have a warm bath.

By the time she finishes, it's past 3am.

The warmth water relaxed her, all the stress and her worries left her body and her eyes feel heavy.

Minami now lays on the middle of the bed, and Ken-chan moved to snuggle next to her. The light of the bathroom doesn't disturb them but is enough to allow a photo. After taking a few dozen, she puts her phone on silent mode and finally gets on the bed.

Not near and neither far away from the two of the most important people Atsuko treasures.

Even in her sleep, Minami reaches blindly for Atsuko. Pulls her closer, and only when Atsuko's head is on her shoulder, an arm around her middle. Minami sighs and continues sleeping. This time, a light snoring fills the silence.

Normally, Atsuko has trouble sleeping. On this night, however, Atsuko is asleep before her brain can process it.

Ichigo once saying something like "don't think about meeting up with the father" to Ai when Ai moved the last new house, it felt so casual and nonchalant that it made me wonder if Ai ever told those thoughts aloud to either of them, even as a joke or something like that…the way the line was said sounded so friendly like as if Ichigo knew there was no bad blood between her and the father (which we know she doesn't anyway but Ichigo couldn't have known back then)…maybe im overthinking, i don't know how to articulate this thought...i guess the main thing is why would he mention it out of nowhere like that about an ex Ai had and even meeting said ex

YEAH LOL it's definitely one of those lines whose inclusion in the story is more utilitarian than anything else. I think it does read pretty naturally in context but it's definitely mostly there to more gracefully transition into Ai's monologue and to set up the dramatic irony at play.

If we're gonna make it work in a Watsonian context though, I think it's notable that Ichigo's pretty sloshed/unfiltered when he says it so it's possible that this is something he's had on his mind for a while and it's just coming out now because he's rambling - actually, thinking about it, I also wonder if he was overly aware of it not just because of the Dome concert but because of the AKB48 scandal that would've happened in-universe the same year as the Dome concert/Ai's death.

I have a longer post about this in the works but the tl;dr is that a member of AKB48 had her name dragged through tabloid mud after being caught spending the night at her boyfriend's house and the way her management handled things exploded into a massive scandal not just in Japan but worldwide, too. And based on when the OnK anime places things chronologically, this all happened January of the year that B-Komachi were due to perform at the Dome. So not only would the potential of Aqua and Ruby being discovered be basically ever present for him, but the potential of a Boyfriend Scandal for Ai specifically (and the associated fallout) would have seemed especially present and relevant.

It's also just kind of hard for me to imagine Ai talking about Hikaru to Ichigo or Miyako even in an oblique/roundabout way. Not necessarily just for emotional reasons (tho that too) but because Ichigo doesn't seem to know anything about who he is before Aqua gets him involved with his own revenge plan. I feel like if Ai had talked enough about the relationship enough for Ichigo to make informed calls like that, he would've had more to work with in narrowing down potential suspects. But also who even knows how much he was actually doing into looking into the father's identity on his 10 year long fishing trip lol

Miyawaki Sakura (LE SSERAFIM, ex. HKT48, IZ*ONE) - Sakura really liked Chichi's work and vice versa, they met through Changbin who knows Chaeyeon (soloist, ex. IZ*ONE, JYP trainee). Since then, they spend a lot of time together (as much as their busy schedules allow). They often play console games and watch dramas together while expanding their Korean vocabulary. Chichi also confessed that she had watched Sakura on stage since HKT48.

Komiyama Haruka (AKB48) - The girls met not long after Haruka confessed in an interview that Chichi was her ideal type. Both are big fans of the "Love Live!" series.

Ushio Sarina (HINATAZAKA46) - The girls met after one of Stray Kids concerts in Japan where Sarina attended. Chichi quickly "fell in love" with her gentle personality, and they have exchanged letters frequently since then, which they both find very cute and more personal. As part of promoting Stray Kids with "Circus", Chichi received a 15-minute segment on Japanese radio, "I Can Say It!", with Sarina as co-host. The program was broadcast twice a week for 2 weeks (4 episodes). During the show, there were many cute interactions between them, which ultimately stole the hearts of fans.

Myoui Mina (TWICE) - The girls obviously know each other from the label. Both are trained in ballet, sometimes spending their free time recalling some choreography. In addition, they often bring each other gifts from Japan whenever one of them is there. Both Mina and Chichi have mentioned multiple times on Bubble that they are currently together - they both always send then a short text message: "🐧🤝🐯".

Song Mingi (ATEEZ) - They became friends during Guerilla choreo making period, where they quickly became the loudest duo, mainly due to their loud laughs. They also often teased each other, to the point that most of their conversations, taken out of context, would have indicated that they hate each other - which only shows how similar their sense of humor is.

Choi San (ATEEZ) - San was the first one to approach Chichi during Kingdom. He then complimented her amazing dancing skills and unimaginable condition. Achieving something similar, he stated, was his goal. Chichi was very touched by his words, and after the show, away from the cameras, they quickly became inseparable. The two often train together. Chichi on one of her vlives confessed that she and San often like to tweak existing choreographies by making them more difficult. They like to feel tired and see how far they can push their limits.

Some of these might not exactly fit the vibe of the vocalists’ band style because akb is an idol group. This is very self indulgent as i just love idols and need to relate idols to all my other interests. I’m also a fairly new akb fan which is why i limited this to just a-sides! All the lyrics I use are taken directly from studio48

reodo -> ハート・エレキ | heart ereki (33rd single)

When passionate blood / Pounds through my body / My feelings go crazy / Can I gather them / In one finger? / If you notice / That you're loved / Let me know the truth!

For some reason I had the hardest time deciding what song to give reodo. Heart electric is definitely the slowest paced /least intense song on this list. Don’t really have much to say other than just listen to the song and imagine reo singing it.

joshua -> 10年桜 | 10nen zakura (11th single)

Somewhere the cherry blossom petals / Dance lightly in the wind / As someone flaps their wings / And heads out on their own / I want to be able to protect you even more

oldest akb single and most idol-IDOL-sounding song on this is list (especially the opening and last verse). the chorus is a good mix of longing while still being powerful, which i think his voice would suit really well! also i’m sure someone out there can look at these lyrics and imagine a slowburn childhood-friends-to-lovers.

I was incredibly tempted to give romance irane to joshua but i decided against it mainly because of the lyrics of it. but i think the actual song would work for him.

judah - river (14th single)

Inside your heart too / A river is flowing / So painful, a river of trial / Maybe it doesn't go smoothly, even so / Sometimes you're almost drown, even so / It's OK to repeat again

originally i was debating between giving judah river or koi tsun jatta but after thinking it over, i think river is a better fit! river is such a unique song. it’s starts off with a chant before the instrumental hits riding off the intensity of the opening but the chorus is so heartfelt. i think this song is just the perfect amount of intensity for judah!

i'm not gonna act like i'm that familiar with yu's personality but even with my limited knowledge, i really feel like this song fits! just like what i wrote for reo, just listen to the song and imagine yu singing it and you’ll see what i mean.

momochi - 元カレです | moto kare desu (59th single)

I know that I am self centered / Even if I think about an "If" / The wish will be vain in the end / Maybe I am still in love with you even now / What's wrong with me

moto kare desu is a song from the perspective of an ex boyfriend who sees his ex girlfriend with a new guy. the main reason i picked this song for him is because of the meaning… i want to hear momochi sing lines like “it doesn't matter who the hell he is / If you are happy enough with someone else beside me.” The stage outfits would also look really nice on him In My Opinion.

A’ - UZA (28th single)

You should display love your own way / You don't have to consider the other person / It's okay to love the way you think you should love / And if you're lucky, you might be loved in return

Uza is a more edm-like song with a cool use of autotune throughout the song! the meaning behind the song is also…interesting. i don’t think the lyrics are entirely applicable to atan but this song would go very nice with his voice and fits his style imo. and like all the other songs i was really having a hard time picking between uza and no way man. the lyrics of no way man definitely feel more suited for atan since it’s an uplifting song and not a song about… well i’ll let these lyrics speak for themselves. “I don't care if you're my girlfriend or not / Every time I think of morals I black out”

i really love akb so let me do a quick plug. koi tsun jatta is the a-side of the latest akb single, the full single will come out july 17! it’s sato airi’s first time centering a senbatsu! one of my favorite akb members will be center for one of the b-sides on the single (Surechigau Shunkan)! please check it out if you are interested!
